Emy put special effort into obtaining the nib I wanted before sending the Carene to me. The pen arrived quickly even though it was sent to the far side of the world. It was exactly what I ordered and in perfect condition. thank you very much for your effort. Know it was appreciated.
The Carene writes extremely smoothly and produces a pleasantly wet line. This is an extremely comfortable pen that accommodates long writing sessions without fatigue. Waterman has delivered a beautiful pen that thoroughly deserved its long production run.

My new Carene arrived three days ago. This fountain pen writes beautifully. It is smooth and comfortable in the hand and looks very elegant. The quality of the manufacture is superb. The nib is very smooth and solid to write with.
Emy’s care and attention was greatly appreciated. He went to great lengths to ensure I was provided with exactly what I ordered. Delivery to the far side of the world was quick, efficient and secure.
I recommend both the fountain pen and Pen Venture to any prospective purchaser.

Almost a Grail pen

Appearance: There are not many inlay nibs pen. And the Carene looks way better that the Pilot E95. The amber lacquer has a bit of glitter
Weight: It's a bit hefty. It's brass. I'm not sure will it tired when doing long writing. But the balance is right. I don't experience fatigue when writing.
Nibs: The nib is smooth. Almost like the Pelikan M800. But it's a nail. And it's 18k, not 14k. So don't expect any flex. The section is comfortable. No pesky threads (Snap cap). And there is no 'flare' at the end of the section. So I can grip anywhere on the section.
Conclusion: The cigar shape cap with it's unique end gives a 'elegance' with a hint of 'classic' appearance. It's not a vintage, more like retro appearance, like Shaffer's Pen For Man. The writing experience is enjoyable.

A Very Good Pen

I love pens designed around the JoWo #6 nib unit. Ideal size, a virtually “open source” design meaning that most parts of this pen responsible for putting ink to paper are interchangeable with almost every other pen designed around the JoWo #6 nib unit. The Sentry does this very well, even without a genuine JoWo #6 nib. In my opinion, these Gravitas nibs are as good as, or even better than any genuine JoWo #6 steel nib, including ink flow.
The Ultem Sentry is engineered to last, the same as the metal Sentry pens. Yes, the metal grip section is heavier than the rest of the pen body, and yes, that moves the center of mass closer to the nib. However, this is a fountain pen, not a World GP Racing Motorcycle, or a trick throwing knife. Perfect balance between front and back isn’t a requirement for a pen to be an excellent writing instrument. The only place where perfect balance is a must-have is a submarine, and, again, this is a fountain pen.
The ONLY less-than-perfect part of this pen are the threads holding the cap on the body. My pen has a tendency to want to cross-thread, so I had to adjust my capping procedure: go easy and slow, and if it feels like it’s cross-threading, back up one or two clicks and try again. Ultem is plastic, and forcing the threads will damage them, which will lead to the nib unit drying out, and it just goes downhill from there.

Love the Flagship for its simplicity and design. I’m a minimalist at heart. The materials and workmanship are second to none. Writes very smooth. The service from Pen-Venture was very fast and helpful. Highly recommended

Great Sailor King of Pen and exceptional service!

Already owning a few sailor pens, the purchase of another one was not really an issue. I like Sailor pens and knew this would be a great addition to a growing collection. This, being my first purchase from Pen Venture, was initially the hesitation however with many videos on YouTube and positive comments and reviews I took the step of faith. I can not be more happy! Fast delivery, and not just a thank you note but personalized. Other companies may add a note, nice, but this one was personalized and time was taken.
