Description

An ultra-portable and robust pocket pen, designed for those on the go. The section is crafted from 304 stainless steel, coated in Black PVD, and designed with micro-machined grooves to enhance grip. ULTEM resin is a high performance polyetherimide thermoplastic (PEI) - used in the manufacturing process of circuit boards, sterilisation equipment and most notably in the making of aircraft parts, it offers high strength and stiffness, a broad chemical resistance, making it expensive and used for only high demanding applications.

The cap of the Pocket, with double-start ACME threads, smoothly disengages in just 1.5 turns, and one side is expertly machined flat to serve as a practical roll stop. Posting the Pocket makes up for a full size writing instrument when in writing.

The 25mm-long section, ranging from 11.85mm to 9.8mm in width, is crafted from metal. Micro-machined grooves enhance grip, ensuring a secure hold, offering a comfortable yet firm stationary grip while writing with the Pocket.

The fountain pen is equipped with a Gravitas-production size 6 steel nib and abs plastic feeder compatible with Jowo No. 6 threads, providing a range of writing options, including Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and Broad. With every Pocket fountain pen comes included a standard international cartridge converter, if in need of more ink, the Pocket comes with rubber orings in order to be an ideal eyedropper fountain pen, taking advantage of the entire barrel volume for ink.

Elevate your writing experience with this compact and resilient pocket pen.

What a great company to do business with

Pen Venture responded to my questions very quickly and thoroughly. The shipping was excellent and reasonably priced. My Gravitas ultem pocket pen is a jewel, meeting my high expectations. Thank you Pen Venture

Terrific little pen

Attractive, writes well, made well. Only surprising thing is that it takes more force than I expected to post cap. I'm not sure if the caps fits into a ridge or is just friction fit when posted. I believe the pen is well worth the money.

Pocket Perfection

Thank you to Gravitas and Pen Venture for a fantastic start to my 2025 pen year! This is my first pocket-sized fountain pen - I’m not sure why I waited so long to acquire one, but waiting until now was clearly meant to be. The Pocket Ultem is a beautiful pen. Small but mighty, it’s an excellent writer, a very pratical pen that is just plain fun to use. You can’t help but appreciate its compact, sleek design, smooth finish, satisfying weight and comfortable feel in hand. I am delighted with my purchase and can see another Gravitas pen on the horizon!

And a word about the customer service. I was enticed by Emy's videos, and did a bit of research about Gravitas and its line of pens. I was impressed by what I read and heard and looked forward to giving Gravitas a try - it sounded promising! The pen I ordered delivered on all counts, and the delivery itself was fast and without a hitch. The pen pouch and Gravitas notepad were nice touches to round out a very pleasant customer experience with Gravitas and Pen Venture. Kudos to them.

Blown away

My favorite EDC for years has been an Ensso pocket pen. I’ve tried so many pens to find something I loved more but was often disappointed by manufacturing, design, materials, size, or something else. Just for this Gravitas and was completely blown away. Love the material. Machining precision and details are just out of this world. Literally the only been I’ve reached for all week. Also Pen Venture has seriously fixed the shipping issues famous to this brand. Bravo to them for shipping so dang fast I thought there had to be a mistake when my email said my pen had arrived.

The pen in wonderful to use. This is for sure my edc pen of choice.

My confidence to purchase the Gravitas pen was greatly enhanced when I saw that Emy and Pen Venture is involved. Thank you Emy for the quick delivery, and also for testing the nibs as requested. Much appreciated !

Review platinum maki e sakura

Respect!

Perfect Pocket Pen

The Dinkey is my favorite pocket-sized model from Gravitas’ current line. I prefer it to the Quark and the Pocket for EDC. It’s an excellent pocket pen; beautiful and weighty, easy to maintain, writes smooth… the cupronickel material is gorgeous. It’s bright and polished, and the nickel coloring is dominant, but catch it in the right light, and copper tones will shine through. Truly eye-catching.

Excellent Pocket Pen

The Gravitas Pocket Pen is another answer to a question that I didn't know anybody asked. Before you aim your flamethrower my way, let me explain why I said that. The object "Pocket Pen" is such an oddity to begin with. Most people would not put an object into their pants pocket that has the potential to leak strongly colored fluid into things that should not have their color changed. Pants pockets are at a location on the body that is usually in motion in a variety of ways. The potential for damage of non-flexible items is probably highest in pants pockets out of all possible pocket locations. And yet...here we are. Gravitas Pocket Pens, for the most part, are made out of metals which are more damage resistant than plastics. The materials used have to be thick enough to resist bending and breaking while the owner's body bends and moves in ways that make structural engineers weep. And the pen has to be short enough to not interfere with freedom of movement while being carried in said pants pocket. Ben Walsh's engineering have solved those problems by making Pocket Pens out of a variety of materials that are able to survive the rigors of Pants Pocket Carry without mechanical or material failure. Keep in mind that most pants pockets also contain a variety of other objects besides a pen, and their interaction inside the pocket will lead to scratches, nicks, and marks that probably won't buff out...which is the main reason why I don't want to put a pen with a coating (paint, PVD, Anodize, DLC, etc.) in my pocket. Eventually, the coating is coming off. Some come off in a couple of weeks, some take several years, but sooner or later... So, why buy a zirconium pen that weighs 11 grams less than the stainless steel pen, and 26 grams more than an alumin(i)um pen? Because it's more scratch resistant than titanium, but still workable with industrial tools...barely. The pen is virtually flawless: the nib is smooth, ink flow is wonderful, fit and finish are awesome, the grip diameter is not too skinny, not too wide, and the micro grooves prevent finger slippage. In my opinion, grip size/shape has more influence over how well the pen feels in your hands, and how long you can write with it in one session than the weight. The only thing that couldn't be overcome is the inability to accommodate a full size converter. But there's an Entry, Sentry and Flagship pen that provide the same awesome engineering, same nib sizes, and room for a standard cartridge converter!

A beautiful burgundy ballpoint.

After picking up the Purple Ocean version of this Caran d'Ache pen, I ended up ordering this Burgundy version as a gift for someone else. They really like it. The parts that stood out to them the most were how pretty it is, the good hand feel and weight, and that it writes reliably.
