Description

An ultra-portable and robust pocket pen, designed for those on the go, available now in a very robust and resilient material - Pultruded Carbon Fibre - manufactured using the pultrusion process, where carbon fibre tow is pulled through a resin bath into a heated die forming the raw tube of the pen and cures it - followed by machining on a specialsed lathe with a proprietary technique/process.

The cap of the Pocket, with triple-start threads, smoothly disengages in just 1.5 turns, and one side is expertly machined flat to serve as a practical roll stop. Posting the Pocket makes up for a full size writing instrument when in writing. The cap and the barrel of the Pocket Pultruded Carbon Fiber Eydropper are lined with Delrin to contain the ink and the pen holds* 1 ml of ink. *do not exceed 1ml of ink when filled for optimal use and cary.
The Eydropper version doesnt fit ink cartridges and/or converters and every pen is provided with an 1ml eyedropper.

The 25mm-long blacked out PvD section, ranging from 11.85mm to 9.8mm in width, is crafted from metal. Micro-machined grooves enhance grip, ensuring a secure hold, offering a comfortable yet firm stationary grip while writing with the Pocket.

The fountain pen is equipped with a Gravitas-production size 6 steel nib black color and fuelled by a red Nikko ebonite feeder. The satin texture of the carbon fibre with black and charcoal hue color is complemented by red accents like the feeder, Gravitas red logo on the cap and the barrel red rubber o ring. With every Pocket fountain pen comes included a small cartridge converter.

Elevate your writing experience with this compact and resilient pocket pen.

Simply fantastic

I just purchased his pen from Pen Venture last week. I anticipated its arrival and I was not disappointed. I opted to get the pen with a Fine nib - which is more like a F - M nib in actuality but I think I'm in love - I inked the dropper with my favorite Platinum Ink, Carbon Black CHOU Kuro and WOW! This has to be the smoothest writer I have and thats saying a lot since I have dozens of FP's. There's something about this pen with the Ebony feeder, the fine Point and the Carbon Black CHOU Kuro that is hard to describe. The feeling and sensation I get from using this combo is unlike any other. I can'r recommend this pen (and ink combo) enough. Anyone on the fence - jump off and buy it, you won't regret it and Pen Venture was super prompt in getting my my pen to the US quickly - no delays no BS, Great experience all around and I simply love the new GRAVITAS - POCKET PULTRUDED CARBON FIBER | NEW - EYEDROPPER Its my new daily writer attached to my pen holder on my Plotter Shirinami bible :)

I wanted to love it and then I had second thoughts and then it pleasantly surprised me!

I will start out saying that I think the eye dropper pen is a new version and the video review on the page is of a different cartridge version. I was a little confused as to which pen was going to show up and was hoping for the cartridge pen, but I did end up with the newer eye dropper pen. That being said, I have to say that while that disappointed me a little because I thought that it might be messy and I don't write a ton, I actually love the way this pen writes and I find myself picking it up and writing and scribbling little things just to write with it. The tuning Emmy did was perfect. This is the second pen Emmy has worked his magic on. I love the Pultruded Carbon Fiber material in the hand. At first the cap kept falling off the back of the pen because I was not posting it securely enough. I was afraid that it would mark the pen up, but I quickly learned that I just needed to put a little effort behind posting it and it has stopped coming loose and it doesn't leave a mark. So I am very happy with this pen. It is Juicy and smooth. I bought the fine and told Emmy I am used to a medium and like it wet. So it actually feels like a medium and it's perfect for me. I think the medium would be too much for me so I am happy that I went with the fine. My only complaint about the pen is the red o-ring above the section threads keeps getting unseated from my thumb or forefinger. It rolls down the threads and I suspect it will wear it out much faster than normal use if I'm not careful with it. I plan on purchasing some extra red o-rings to have on hand. I can honestly say that I think this pen is going to be with me daily and that is something new for me. I collect pens, I don't normally use them that much. But this pen is so nice to write with that I think it will get me to write more. It's a brand new year, so maybe it will be a new resolution to get more writing in and use this pen as an EDC. Thank you Pen Venture and Gravitas for a great pen experience!

Excellent pocket fountain pen

Thank you Pen Venture team for your efforts in delivering high quality products on time and in pristine condition. The handwritten letter from Emy and the personal care and fine tuning of my pen is a distinct service and highly appreciated by me.
I am excited with my new Gravitas Pocket pultruded carbon fiber fountain pen.
The nib (fine) and the nikko ebonite feed are outstanding !
Smooth - silky and wet . Thumbs up 👍 👌 👏
to Gravitas Pens and Pen Venture team , excellent writing experience!
My only remark and feedback is that the Fine nib seems to me more like a Medium size writing experience but as I said already I love it.
In my next purchase I will try the Extra Fine nib. 😃

It just feels right

How many pocket pens are equipped with an ebonite feed? I don´t know, but this one is--and from what I´ve experienced recently with other pens and a difficult ink (dry!) it is essential to me, that a fountain pen indeed comes with an ebonite feed! And look at this: isn´t this red Nikko ebonite beautiful?
And the rest of the pen is beautifil as well: that carbon fibre body looks posh and gives this seemingly small buddy essential weight you wouldn´t expect when you merely look at it. And of course: when in use the pen is a full-size pen.
The heart of the pen: nib and feed are indeed wonderful: the nib (M size) is wet but not a gusher (I can´t abide gushers).
Now a note about Emy from Pen-Venture: He always strives to make us, his customers, happy; it´s always a pleasure to shop at his fine company!

Marvellous

Ordering and testing the carbon pultruded pocket fountain pen from Gravitas I wondered about the haptic experience of the material. And I am absolute amazed with the warm and smooth experience of holding and writing. Also the nib works perfect. The look gets positvereaction from clients.
Also have I to mention the perfect service and the personal letter from Emy.
Great experience, looking forward for further purchases.

If the Monster and the Vac 1.0 had a Love Child...

...this would be it! To be completely honest, the Monster's DNA is clearly the dominant factor in this creation! As a matter of fact, it might be more accurate to call this pen the Baby Monster, instead of "Vac 2.0". There are only a few characteristics of the Vac 1.0 that were passed on, such as having an Ultem ink window on the secondary ink reservoir. Speaking of which, shouldn't the "Primary" ink reservoir be the one that connects directly to the nib unit? The back up, or reserve reservoir should be the "Secondary" reservoir, since it feeds the primary reservoir, not the nib unit, but...whatever. Other characteristics inherited from the Vac 1.0 are the conical finials on the cap and barrel, as well as a #6 size nib. Ink capacity of the Vac 2.0 is more than the Vac 1.0, but less than the Monster; at 4.5 ml, it's more than enough to get you through an all night session of writing, maybe even all week!
The nib...unlike other Gravitas nibs, doesn't have a breather hole, and the slit is longer. The metal also may be thinner than other Gravitas #6 nibs, which in combination with the longer slit, may give this nib a bit more flexibility. My nib is very smooth! Ink flow is a little bit less than the Monster's, but more than the Vac 1.0's, and is consistent and predictable with Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue ink.
Fun fact: the ink uptake hole (where ink goes into the pen when you fill it) is located on the underside of the feed, pretty close to where the feed disappears into the grip section. It's like that with almost every fountain pen that's designed to suck ink out of an ink well/bottle. The only one I know of that has the hole way forward toward the tip of the nib is the Lamy 2000. How does that affect you? The farther the nib sticks out from the grip section, the higher up that hole sits from the nib's tip, and the more ink needs to be in the bottom of the ink well to make sure that the pen sucks up ink, not air. The #6 nib sticks out about 7/8" (22mm), the #8 nib (of the Monster) sticks out about 17/16" (27mm). So, unless you plan on transferring your favorite ink into tall, thin ink bottles (like Robert Oster ink bottles), use an ink miser or ink sample bottle, or get creative with an ink syringe, the smaller sized nib of the Vac 2.0 allows you to get more ink out of your bottle before the rest becomes unreachable. With a little patience, practice, and an ample supply of paper towels, you can fill almost any piston filler or vac filler with an ink syringe as if the pen was an eyedropper filler, as long as you can remove the grip section and squirt the ink directly into the barrel. Some pens won't let you remove the grip section, but you can unscrew the nib unit, which will also give you direct access to the ink chamber(s). Vac fillers are more difficult to fill like that, because the piston has to be pushed all the way forward, and then retracted just far enough to allow ink to flow around and behind the piston to fill the ink chamber. If you were to fill it with the piston all the way in the back, you'd just expel all of the ink as soon as you push the piston forward again.
I love that Vac 2.0 has a second ink window, which lets me know when I need to open up the big ink chamber to allow ink to fill the little in chamber. I love the smaller nib, which allows me to better access to ink in bottles that are less than half full. I love how smooth the nib writes, and that the line width is actually pretty close to the nominal "Fine" standard (0.3mm, +/- 0.1mm). I love that the cap and pen body are now mated with titanium threaded parts, with ACME threads, so there isn't the constant feeling of cross threading the Ultem plastic, like every time I put the cap back on my Vac 1.0. I'm still careful whenever I screw the cap on any of my pens, regardless of material or brand, but I'm extra careful with threads on my non metal pens.
So, if like the Vac 1.0, you're going to love Vac 2.0, because I believe all of the Vac 1.0's shortcomings were addressed. If you thought you might like the Monster, but thought it's too big or pricey for you, the Vac 2.0 is the perfect fit. Still more ink capacity than most fountain pens, including many dedicated eyedropper pens, yet almost the same size as a regular full size pen. Robust construction, high quality materials, flawless fit and finish.

Love this ink!

It is a beuatiful color and seems to work well in the pens I have tried out. No issues, and it has the waterproof qualities I was looking for.

Diamine - Desert Rose | Exclusive Pen Venture | - Bottled Ink 80 ml
Garo

Desert Rose is a beautiful, elegant ink with a soft dusty rose color that stands out from the typical reds and purples. I currently have it inked in my Laban, and it’s a perfect match. The ink has excellent flow, looks sophisticated on the page, and gives the pen a unique personality. It’s a color that always catches my eye when I flip through my notebook.

Diamine - Neptune Blue | Exclusive Pen Venture | - Bottled Ink 80 ml
Garo

A beautiful saturated blue that strikes a great balance between professional and vibrant. It has excellent flow, good lubrication, and behaves well on quality paper. If you enjoy rich blue inks without venturing into teal territory, this is a fantastic exclusive.

Gravitas - Vac 2.0 Filing System Tool
Garo

Simple but worth having. It makes maintenance much easier and fits the Vac 2.0 perfectly. It’s one of those accessories you may not use often, but when you need to disassemble the pen for cleaning or servicing you’ll be glad you have it.
