Blackwing - Volumes LE Vol. 458 The Birding Pencil 2025 Graphite Pencil | Balanced - 2B

Blackwing Vol. 458 celebrates the art of slowing down and paying attention. Inspired by birdwatching and the beauty of the natural world, this limited-edition pencil invites you to notice the details that often go unseen, from the flash of a bird’s wing to the changing colors of the landscape.

The edition features four designs inspired by North American birds: Mallard, Clark’s Grebe, Green Jay, and Black Rail, each brought to life through distinctive gradient finishes and a coordinating eraser. The number 458 represents the estimated number of migratory bird species that regularly travel across the United States and Canada, adding another layer of meaning to the collection.

Made in Japan with premium Balanced graphite and Incense-cedar wood sourced from sustainably managed forests in California and Oregon, Blackwing Vol. 458 is equally at home in a sketchbook, journal, or pencil case. A beautifully crafted writing instrument for drawing, writing, collecting, and looking a little more closely at the world around you.
