Visconti - Van Gogh The Impressionist collection - inspired by the artist's color palette, brush strokes and techniques. Visconti launched this collection in 2008 and 2019 brings a new and revamped fountain pen. Injected natural resin is used to make this pen that has the iconic Visconti's eighteen-faceted design.This pen is a limited edition piece of the 2019 Impressionist Collection. Every pen is presented with a special bottle of ink in the box. The entire trims of the pen are palladium plated.

This pen comes equipped with a steel Visconti nib. You can choose the nib from the 3 sizes available: Fine, Medium, Broad. This pen is easy to fill with ink. Equipped with a Visconti cartridge converter you can use bottled ink or ink cartridge for your Van Gogh.

The weight of this pen is well distributed making it comfortable for extended writing session. This pen is using a magnetic capping system. Carry your pen secure in any pocket with the Ponte Vecchio pen clip.

A Very Good Pen

I love pens designed around the JoWo #6 nib unit. Ideal size, a virtually “open source” design meaning that most parts of this pen responsible for putting ink to paper are interchangeable with almost every other pen designed around the JoWo #6 nib unit. The Sentry does this very well, even without a genuine JoWo #6 nib. In my opinion, these Gravitas nibs are as good as, or even better than any genuine JoWo #6 steel nib, including ink flow.
The Ultem Sentry is engineered to last, the same as the metal Sentry pens. Yes, the metal grip section is heavier than the rest of the pen body, and yes, that moves the center of mass closer to the nib. However, this is a fountain pen, not a World GP Racing Motorcycle, or a trick throwing knife. Perfect balance between front and back isn’t a requirement for a pen to be an excellent writing instrument. The only place where perfect balance is a must-have is a submarine, and, again, this is a fountain pen.
The ONLY less-than-perfect part of this pen are the threads holding the cap on the body. My pen has a tendency to want to cross-thread, so I had to adjust my capping procedure: go easy and slow, and if it feels like it’s cross-threading, back up one or two clicks and try again. Ultem is plastic, and forcing the threads will damage them, which will lead to the nib unit drying out, and it just goes downhill from there.

Great Sailor King of Pen and exceptional service!

Already owning a few sailor pens, the purchase of another one was not really an issue. I like Sailor pens and knew this would be a great addition to a growing collection.
