Visconti Blue - Inkwell 50ml

Visconti Blue is a dark royal blue with no visible hints of purple nor green. I'd say that it is in the same color family as Pilot Iroshizuku Asa-Gao but Visconti Blue is a shade darker. It shows a bit of shading and a small amount of dark red sheen around the edges in wet nibs.

The ink has a moderately wet flow and is extremely well lubricated. I suspect this line of inks was formulated specifically to keep their line of vacuum-filling pens working at their best and the extra lubrication does seem to help. The lubrication in the ink would also be helpful for piston filling pens as well and the ink also adds a bit of smoothness to the feel of any nib. It dries relatively quickly despite being a pretty wet ink: around 10 seconds from a pretty wet medium nib pen on Tomoe River paper.

Visconti blue is dark enough to be fully acceptable in a work setting but is bright enough to still pop off the page. I'm currently keeping it in my Visconti Homo Sapiens Crystal Dream and I'm really enjoying writing with it both in the office and when journaling at home. The ink also really looks nice sloshing around in the Crystal Dream's ink window.
