The Essenza Nashiji Ignis is a testament to what can only be created through time, mastery, and reverence for art. Designed by Leonardo Officina Italiana exclusively for Pen Venture, this Essence fountain pen is crafted from ebonite and brought to life through the ancient Nashiji-nuri urushi lacquer technique, a Japanese art form that evokes the delicate shimmer of a pear’s skin (nashiji = pear ground).

What sets Ignis apart is its soul - fire. Named after the Latin word for flame, Ignis captures the spirit of transformation. Just as urushi lacquer transforms with each layer, heat, and polish, this fountain pen emerges from the hands of PenTeo as a glowing statement of beauty and intention. Leonardo – Essenza Nashiji Ignis is part of a limited edition numbering 13 pieces and as with all of PenTeo x Pen Venture creations, it comes with the limited edition number in red urushi and in roman numbers.

In this meticulous process - Nashiji-nuri, silver flakes are carefully applied to the pen's surface, then sealed beneath layer upon layer of red-tinted translucent urushi lacquer. Each layer is cured under precisely controlled temperature and humidity before being polished by hand, a meditative practice that reveals unparalleled depth and glow.

The final urushi coats add a high-gloss finish and durable protection, preserving the intricate play between light and lacquer for generations. The result is a writing instrument that is not only stunning in its quiet shimmer but also deeply meaningful, a fusion of heritage, patience, and excellence.
