Gravitas - Dinkey Tungsten Polished – Pen Venture

A very satisfying small heavy pen

The PVD coating of this pen makes it stand out, especially next to my carbon Dinkey and my zirconium Quark. I have a Kaweco Brass Sport that I don't enjoy because it is much too heavy for my taste, but this much smaller steel pen feels great in my medium-sized hand. I thoroughly enjoy it as it is the only size of steel/brass pens that I might care to use, but it's not great at the "pocket" part of being a pocket pen. I wouldn't use it for that function unless for some reason I greatly need it to be able to resist being rolled over by heavy vehicules.

First date with my Dinkey

My Dinkey came halfway around the world within the week.
Thank you Pen Venture team for the fantastic service.
The pen quality and finish is stunning and with the raw finish to the grip section there is no fear of the pen sliding about whilst writing.
I changed the nib out for a 1.1 mm stub which writes silky smooth.
I still like to carry my pens in my shirt pocket so for me this pen and the Quarks would be the worlds best pens if they had a clip.

GORGEOUS PEN

I love Gravitas pens. The level of precision is second to none. The pen is absolutely beautiful. The pen comes with a steel nib but I switched it up for the BB 14k nib that came in my Kakari. I cannot wait until my pen has developed the beautiful patina I expect it will. As for the way it fits my hand. I have a large hands and it fits well when posted.

Size matters

Yes size matters. I find the Pocket a little too big and the Dinkey just nice. When capping the pen, there is a silent click that tells you that you cannot tighten anymore. That’s a good design consideration.
Love the rainbow colours.
My nick pick is that it is not very secure when you post the cap.

Very well made pen!

I purchased this pen with an EF nib. It writes great and the craftsmanship is excellent. I took off one star only because it seems to be slightly weighted in a way that it wants to turn upside down in my hand. This is my first pocket pen, so maybe I need to adjust the cap in a certain way or something that I haven’t figured out yet. Overall I’m very happy with it and glad it’s now in my pen collection.
