Gravitas - Vac 2.0 Grade 5 Titanium | Stone Washed – Pen Venture

Gravitas introduces the Vac 2.0 Grade 5 Titanium following the initial Vac 2.0 Aluminium Black, a refined evolution based on the UltemateVac platform, engineered for writers who demand precision, capacity and full serviceability in a modern robust fountain pen.

The Vac 2.0 retains the core proportions of its predecessor while introducing subtle refinements in weight, balance(section made of Stainless Steel 304 for optimal weight distribution) and material execution. Its body is constructed from a combination of Ultem and Grade 5 Titanium, pairing the lightweight transparency of Ultem with the exceptional strength, corrosion resistance and tactile character of grade 5 titanium in two finishes: Machine and Stonewashed. A double reservoir ink window provides clear visibility of ink levels, while the cap features an inner Delrin sleeve with ACME threads, improving sealing performance and posting stability for a more secure writing experience.

At the heart of the system is Gravitas downsized Kraken filling mechanism, also found in the Gravitas Monster, delivering an exceptional ink capacity of 4.5ml+ (one plunge = approximately 3ml of ink, while a double plunge allows up to 4.5ml maximum capacity). This high-volume reservoir is designed for extended writing sessions with minimal interruption, making it ideal for both professional and creative use.

The fountain pen features Gravitas newly developed proprietary #6 steel nib, available in EF, F, M and B widths. Designed without a traditional breather hole and incorporating a longer slit geometry, it delivers a uniquely balanced writing experience with more softness and spring than a conventional steel nib. While not intended as a flex nib, it offers enhanced responsiveness and comfort during normal writing without requiring additional pressure. The proprietary steel nib uses a custom ABS housing and feeder while remaining compatible with standard* JoWo #6 formats.

One of the defining innovations of the Vac 2.0 is its fully serviceable construction. The section can be unscrewed and the filling mechanism can be removed using the dedicated maintenance spanner tool marked "Vac", allowing users to easily clean, lubricate and maintain the system. This ensures long-term reliability and effortless upkeep, an essential feature for a high-performance writing instrument.

Pilot Urushi perfection

Magnificent in its simplicity. The nib is tuned to perfection. The perfect size for most hands. A smooth no feedback nib that is very forgiving and is left hand friendly. The Urushi is smooth radiating an out of this world brilliance, paint strokes are evident with a 10x loop. And of course the fit and finish and Pilots quality control is flawless perfection.

Leonardo Momento: Momentous

The Leonardo Momento is a magnificent writing instrument. The grey translucent body give's a hint of its interior and allows you to see thr ink level. The feel on the the body is similar to the lava on a Visconti Homo Sapiens. The gold colored steel nib explodes with the name Leonardo surrounded with flourishes. The stub nib writes with minimal feedback and allows for some very nice line variation. It is an Excellent choice for left handed writers. Overall the fit and finish is flawless.

Stunning Leonardo Momento Magico Primary Manipulation 1 by Jonathon Brooks

This is my first Leonardo pen and I am very impressed so far! I also have never tried a piston fill system and I am liking it. The pen is absolutely stunning and I do know that each pen by Jonathon Brooks is different however I was sent photos of the exact pen I was buying, of each side of it and for this I am very grateful to Pen Venture and their fabulous customer service. I was hesitant about ordering as I am in Canada but the shipping was very speedy and the "tariffs" were minimal!! I would not hesitate to order from Pen Venture again as this Leonardo is exquisite to write with as well as to look at!
