It’s a thoughtfully crafted writing instrument, inspired by the classic Gravitas Vac silhouette and refined with modern engineering. Every curve, every proportion has been carefully considered to create a fountain pen that feels bold yet perfectly balanced in the hand.

Disclaimer ! - the combination of the sleek finish and the lack of the clip makes this pen to easy roll off the table/desk or slip off the pocket while in carry, the result of such unfortunate events can be a pen barrel cracked and/or split where the clear acrylic meets the aluminium section threads. Such unfortunate accidents are not covered by warranty !

Crafted from materials like - Aluminium (anodised), Optical Grade Acrylic and 304 Stainless Steel, the Monster delivers a writing experience that is both substantial and effortless. Its weight and balance have been optimized through meticulous design and strategic material choices, offering comfort without compromise. Ergonomic due to its bead blasting texture of the Aluminium section - The Monster is a comfortable choice even for an extended writing session. The Monster is featuring a inner Delrin cap sleeve which allows for a smooth posting and a smooth feel in capping and uncapping.

At the core of The Monster lies the Kraken Filling System, a revolutionary filling mechanism born from a surprising source: medical device research. While developing retractable pens, Ben Walsh the lead designer of Gravitas explored shut-off valves and sealing solutions used in mechanical devices - heart valves. The result? A precision-engineered system that offers reliable and efficient operation, vacuum integrity and a unique tactile experience that sets it apart from traditional vacumatic filling systems.

When installed in The Monster - Kraken Filling System brings a huge ink volume of 7ml of ink at full load (full Namiki Emperor ink load - 6ml ink) and an outstanding vacuum integrity due to the use of specialised quad ring* (*a two contact point square ring which maintains a lubricant in between contact points ensuring constant lubricant delivery each time when used) translating in a efficient suction of ink with even one plunge.

The writing point of The Monster is a steel size 8 nib paired with an ebonite feeder - available in 4 sizes : Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad. The Monster Silver and Teal come with a silver color nib and Black comes with a black color nib. The launch batch consists of 333 pieces for each of the 3 colors - numbered. Each pen is delivered with a zipper carry case.

Great pen, Excellent service

I am impressed. It writes wonderfully well, smooth and wet, just like I like them. It compares well with my other pens which are multiples of the Monster's price. In addition, it is finely engineered, well made. I at how quickly and seamlessly this was delivered; I live in a remote village in NW Thailand. Excellent service. I need not order pens from other sellers again.

Superb service, great pen

I received the Gravitas Monster (aluminium) today, having ordered it a mere week ago. I was initially wary of ordering a not inexpensive item to be delivered from a company I had no experience with. However, the service has been most impressive all along: I have been kept in the loop throughout the delivery process, and it was such a good touch to receive a personal, handwritten (not computer/printer-generated) note from Emy (thank you so much). And the pen itself is magnificent, writes like a dream and is made of such high quality materials. Such impressive craftsmanship and beautiful design. Excellent value, too. Fantastic Writer!

I don't really have anything to say about this pen that hasn't already been said. It's a pleasure to write with, the pen is comfortable to hold, well balanced, and very nice and elegant in design. For reference, in case anyone is interested, the Gravitas Monster's EF nib is similar in size to my Pilot Custom 74's F. Finally, the ink capacity is incredible.
Overall, it's great value, I'd definitely buy again in a heartbeat --- I really couldn't be happier with this pen!

The Kraken Monster

This is a large, carefully and precisely engineered pen with beautiful materials. The novel vacuum filling mechanism works flawlessly to fill with 4ml of ink (I haven't tried the double-fill yet to 7 ml). The large steel nib writes with ease, and has a small bit of line variation on downsrokes with intent. Thank you to Emy for checking and tuning the nib. Gave me confidence in the purchase.

I was pleased to learn from Emy's video that Pen Venture and Gravitas have joined manufacture and sell the pens. He is proud of this accomplishment and promises more Gravitas pens.

Gravitas Vac 2

The construction of the Vac 2 is flawless. The textures of the materials and it's simple lines display an elegant beauty. The large steel nib delivers a pleasant writing experience and also provides a bit of flex.

Amazing Pen! Gravitas makes one of the best piston fillers out there. I dont keep the nib and normally use the pen for coustom flex nibs with Jowo #6 compatible nib units. So, i really cant speak on the nib. However, this pen is just built with high quality components. The weight, feel, and overall aesthetics are unmatched. You wont find better at this price point.

Platinum Sansui - Smooth Operator

I recently acquired the Platinum Maki-e Sansui pen in a Medium nib. The Pen Venture team was kind enough to carefully inspect and tune this pen before sending it on to me. Many thanks for that. It writes very smoothly and with a steady flow of ink. The Medium nib is my favorite nib configuration from the Platinum brand. The line width is nice and thin and always writes consistently right of the box. This lovely Maki-e pen was no different. I highly recommend it.

FANTASTIC!

The VAC 2.0 is a great improvement to an already great pen (the original VAC Ultem). The weight and balance are spot on. The cap and the new threads engage without hesitation. No missed closures and the cap has a nice stop when threading back on. It posts securely without issue. Filling with the Kraken system is easy. I got a medium nib and it is smoooooooth. Mine is on par with my 823 medium nib The smoothness, wetness and bounce would make you think it's a gold nib. Line width is slightly narrower than the 823 medium. The pen feels solid and well built. I'm not worried about this one getting knocked around. Overall a great pen. Shipping from Pen-Venture to Colorado was five days! Great pen and service all around!
