Gravitas - Piston Carbon Black

The Gravitas Piston carbon black fountain pen has it all:

- The pultruded carbon looks gorgeous and gives the pen a substantial feel in your hand even though it's relatively light. This is not a cheap pen and it does not feel like a cheap pen. You're going to love writing with this one!

- I previously assumed that I might not like the big #8 nib but once you've started using this pen you're going to love the #8

- I have this pen equipped with an extra-fine nib, and combined with the black ebonite feed it is a generous writer that lays a nice and precise line on the paper

- That grip section: made from Titanium and with extremely fine micro grooves it does not even feel like metal and it doesn't feel slippery in the least! (I own three more Gravitas pens with metal sections, two Sentries and a Pocket Carbon: The section on the "Piston" is outstanding and my favorite.)

- And finally: the piston mechanism is extremely smooth and easy-going!

... Go and buy a Gravitas Piston as long as they're available!

Very nicely crafted pen. Writes very well. Time from order to delivery was excellent. Onlu issue is that the piston does not close snug with the pen and there is always a play which is a bit of disappointment. All in all very good pen.

Amazing fit and finish on a limited release pen. The pultruded carbon fiber offer an extremely unique textural feel. The #8 size PVD coated titanium nib is smooth and very wet for a fine nib. The piston filling system is very high quality held together with precise manufacturing tolerances. Everything about this pen screams "refined".

I recently received this pen, and all I can say is wow! The material is warm in the hand, while at the same time fits my hand perfectly! I was not only impressed with the quality of the pen, (as the fit and finishing and tolerances are better than if not comparable to the likes of Pilot/Namiki, Pelican, Mont Blanc, Lamy, or Visconti, etc.) but the pen's dimensions demonstrate a design language that reflects perfect balance and weight distribution, this is something that is rarely seen in fountain pen design.

The writing experience is sublime, with the No. #8 nib (mine is an EF) demonstrating exceptional consistent ink flow and the right amount of feedback under all writing conditions. It does not skip, stall, and does not dry out! The titanium section is perfect for my pen grip, and should easily accommodate most pen grips...

Finally, the piston fill system on this pen works flawlessly with the ink window accurately showing the ink level. All in all, I definitely recommend purchasing this pen if they are available. This pen is something that has to truly be experienced in order to understand how exceptional it truly is!!!

I love this pen in every way. I love customer service from Pen Venture. I wish this pen had a pocket clip. However, for normal daily writing I would go with this pen.
