Description

Introducing the updated Quark Zirconium pocket fountain pen that redefines compact convenience without compromising on performance. The new Zirconium Quark still maintains its use of zirconium for the cap, body and section featuring the same satin texture having a unique tactile feeling. Different from the first version, the new Quark Zirconium sports a blacked-out section, new ACME threads making it easy to post and securely capped without having the need for a rubber o ring.

Crafted to be the tiniest pen of its kind, the Quark transforms into a full-sized writing instrument when posted. Its lightweight design and ergonomically weighted section ensure a comfortable and effortless writing experience.

Featuring double-start cap threads, the Quark effortlessly unveils its nib with just 0.6 turns. When posted, the cap securely threads onto the back in a mere 2 turns. The 22mm-long section, ranging from 9.85mm to 9.0mm in width, is precision-engineered from zirconium material with micro-machined grooves for added grip.

Equipped with a Gravitas-production size 6 steel nib - silver color, compatible with Jowo No. 6 threads and abs plastic feeder, the Quark offers versatile writing options, including Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Fine Flex.

This pen is eye-dropper friendly, capable of holding up to 1.5ml of ink or a standard international ink cartridge. Every Quark includes a complimentary attachment, designed for conveniently securing your item to a lanyard or any carrying accessory, ensuring ease and comfort in your collection.

Elevate your writing experience with the Quark Pocket Pen – where compact meets functionality.

Love the "zing"

To be fully honest, I bought the pen for the interesting material and for the awesome sound it makes. Ordered it in broad and as expected, it's a pleasure to write with. Will carry with it daily to impress and annoy my friends at work :)

Perfect for even the tiniest pocket.

I picked up the Quark Zirconium with a fine nib to act as a counterpart to a Pocket Zirconium and ended up enjoying this tiny pen quite a lot more than I had expected to. While I typically gravitate towards medium nibs, I felt like the Quark was a perfect time to opt for a fine, and it made quite the impression.
I admittedly still prefer medium nibs for day to day use, I appreciate having the option to write just a bit finer And with the Quark, that option is always just a couple of seconds away. The threads for capping and posting are easy to start and feel very secure.
Then there's that splendid ringing you can get out of this little pen. It's something so simple but it always brings a smile to my face.

A good pen as well as good customer service

I don't think I can edit my previous review but I will explain the context briefly. When the Quark arrived it was just as I expected except for an odd issue where the nib was inconsistantly feeding ink onto paper. After leaving a review, Emy contacted me and started working to resolve the issue. In the end, a replacement nib unit was sent to me in addition inside another order I had placed, works great. It was a bit of a pain in the neck to deal with but Emy was very professional and was looking to make things right.
That being said, I'm pretty happy with the Gravitas Quark. With it being a pocket pen, it's nice to carry with me at work for any writing/notes I have to take. Feels nice in the hand, threads in the cap as well as the threads on the end for posting take about one rotation.

Gravitas Quark - An excellent pen

This is my first pocket pen and I was quite skeptical if it would work for me. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The size of the posted Quark is close to the size of an unposted full size pen. Zirconium being a relatively heavy metal gives the pen a nice substantial feel despite the overall small dimensions. The grip section is really comfortable and the nib is excellent. The construction quality is superb.
Last but not least I would rate the buying experience from Pen Venture with A+++ and I definitely recommend them.

Tiny but very functional and super cute

I'm normally not a fan of tiny pens, but this one is really awesome. When posted, it turns into a very comfortable full sized pen (more or less the size of unposted Safari), quite slim, but perfect length and very nicely balanced. Zirconium is quite a heavy material, so despite the small dimensions, the pen is actually fairly weighty and feels substantial in the hand. Large and very pleasant nib, perfect flow. I use it as an eyedropper, which also gives it considerable ink capacity - it seals well, and at least so far I had zero issues with leaks, burps or inconsistent flow. The material is nice to touch, with a matte finish, solid, grippy, and feels more pleasant than aluminium or steel. It could benefit from a clip (even optional, like Kaweco) or at least some kind of roll-stopper, but that's really my only criticism. Otherwise it's a practical and unique small creature that's totally worth the money.

Gravitas - Vac 2.0 Aluminium | Black

Substantial, reliable, and smooth

The Gravitas Vac 2.0 is an amazing tool for handwriting. The nib is smooth, distinct, and reliable, and it has some weight due to its durable materials, black aluminium/aluminum and ultem, the perfect combination of a tool which will survive most of us, still functioning if the internal vacuum piston system is cared for. I have enjoyed this fountain pen for seven days and I am pleased to say it is one of my better ones, and it is fun to use. I recommend it.

(Emy was correct: The nib has great flow, about six drops of ink will automatically flow from the nib after I have just filled it, after that no problems; tissue paper or the ink bottle under the nib until that happens is recommended, other than that: an excellent fountain pen.)

FANTASTIC !!!!!

What a fantastic pen—and customized too!

It writes beautifully and arrived surprisingly quickly, even though I’m in Canada. This is my third order from Pen Venture, and once again, the experience has been outstanding. It's always a pleasure to come back.

My Gravitas arrived perfectly tuned and was ready to write straight out of the box. I filled it with Pelikan Royal Blue, and from the very first stroke, it was smooth, consistent, and an absolute joy to use.

I own several excellent fountain pens, including a Pilot Custom 823, a Sailor 1911, and a Leonardo Momento Zero, and I can honestly say that this Gravitas holds its own among them. It is remarkably well made and comes very close to being the perfect writing instrument.

A big thank you to the entire Pen Venture team for the exceptional service, careful tuning, and attention to detail. I’m already looking forward to my next order!

A Worthy Sequel to an Awesome Pen

On its own, this pen feels very durable and premium, and the bead-blasted, matte black coated treatment gives it a very “professional” vibe. The Fine nib is bouncy and smooth, very usable on the underside as well (with added feedback, but not scratchy), the ribbed steel grip is very comfortable, the feed holds a lot of ink on its own, and the reservoirs behind it will keep it in writing condition for dozens upon dozens of pages after a fill.

The cap screws open and closed smoothly, with a very satisfying click at the end when closed; it posts deeply, and it also posts securely after being pressed down slightly on the barrel. It is light enough that it does not back-weight the pen significantly when posted.

The barrel construction, along with the newly-implemented Kraken filling system, ensure a significant amount of ink is pulled in from the first try. Much like the main cap, the blind-cap screws open and closed smoothly for refills or ink transfers between reservoirs.

Compared to its predecessor:
Fewer transparent areas overall, but the Vac 2.0’s structure feels more solid than the Ultemate Vac.
The body thickness and thread profiles are different on the Vac 2.0 than on the Ultemate Vac, no mix-and-match potential here.
The matte black coating gives the pen a more refined, premium feel on the metallic parts.
The inner lining of the cap doesn’t get stuck in the barrel thread as often, and when it does, it either slips back into correct position, or it is easier to unscrew and reposition, without the metal thread eating into the cap material.
The coated, no-breather-hole design of the new Gravitas steel nib may not be to everyone’s taste, but I like it a lot, and functionally, this nib feels more bouncy and polished, with smoother writing than its predecessor.
The feed seems to pick up a lot more ink on its own from just a 5-second dip, and the small reservoir behind it looks to have more capacity to back it up before needing to unscrew the blind cap and refill it from the large reservoir.
The Kraken filling system seems to suck up significantly more ink per pump than the mechanism from the Ultemate Vac.

Overall, a very well made fountain pen, and a thorough refinement to an already excellent design. Very satisfied with this purchase!

Great Little Monster

Wow!
Just like the Monster but thinner. For me it is more comfortable for longer writing sessions. The filling system is stellar. Holds lots of ink. As always Ben Walsh and Emy have delivered a innovative and enjoyable writing experience. Can't wait to see what's next. Keep up the wonderful work!
