This fountain pen pays homage to the life and enduring influence of one of history's most significant scientists and intellectuals, Galileo Galilei. Born on February 15th, 1564, in Pisa, Tuscany, Galileo was a pioneering figure in scientific exploration, excelling as an astronomer, inventor, philosopher, and writer.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the fountain pen features an aged Vermeil and demo resin body, allowing a clear view of the ink level and the unique filling system inspired by Galileo's technical brilliance. This system, reminiscent of our Power Filler Double Reservoir, omits an external piston in the blind cap, ensuring safer, cleaner, and more consistent refills, seamlessly integrated with the pen's barrel design.

The writing instrument showcases demo resin in the section and cap, offering a captivating glimpse of the 18kt gold palladium-plated nib. Drawing inspiration from Galileo's era, the pen's decorative elements evoke the Baroque craftsmanship, employing antiqued vermeil and polished palladium to achieve a subtle chiaroscuro effect. The finely engraved demo moon phases and Florentine lilies further elevate the pen's aesthetic appeal.

Beyond its technical marvels, the Galileo pen is accompanied by an extraordinary desk set. Housed in a wooden case, the set features a distinctive stand for the pen, resembling a telescope aimed at the heavens. Modeled after Galileo's astrolabes, the stand showcases a globe of the Earth orbiting a golden Sun. Opening the box reveals an illuminated starry night sky on the back wall, achieved through a rechargeable LED light strip reflecting off mirrors—a unique homage from Visconti to Galileo's groundbreaking contributions in astronomy and optics.

Gravitas Vac 2

The construction of the Vac 2 is flawless. The textures of the materials and it's simple lines display an elegant beauty. The large steel nib delivers a pleasant writing experience and also provides a bit of flex.

Amazing Pen! Gravitas makes one of the best piston fillers out there. I dont keep the nib and normally use the pen for coustom flex nibs with Jowo #6 compatible nib units. So, i really cant speak on the nib. However, this pen is just built with high quality components. The weight, feel, and overall aesthetics are unmatched. You wont find better at this price point.

Platinum Sansui - Smooth Operator

I recently acquired the Platinum Maki-e Sansui pen in a Medium nib. The Pen Venture team was kind enough to carefully inspect and tune this pen before sending it on to me. Many thanks for that. It writes very smoothly and with a steady flow of ink. The Medium nib is my favorite nib configuration from the Platinum brand. The line width is nice and thin and always writes consistently right of the box. This lovely Maki-e pen was no different. I highly recommend it.

FANTASTIC!

The VAC 2.0 is a great improvement to an already great pen (the original VAC Ultem). The weight and balance are spot on. The cap and the new threads engage without hesitation. No missed closures and the cap has a nice stop when threading back on. It posts securely without issue. Filling with the Kraken system is easy. I got a medium nib and it is smoooooooth. Mine is on par with my 823 medium nib The smoothness, wetness and bounce would make you think it's a gold nib. Line width is slightly narrower than the 823 medium. The pen feels solid and well built. I'm not worried about this one getting knocked around. Overall a great pen. Shipping from Pen-Venture to Colorado was five days! Great pen and service all around!
