Leonardo - Urushi Essenza Raden Great Void 2024 Pen Venture Exclusive (Ltd)

2024 comes with a new Leonardo Officina Italiana x Pen Venture urushi exclusive limited edition, we embrace the challenge to go one step further each year and to elevate our urushi project for those who like to mark them as tokens of appreciation for our relentless chase for excellency and passion. The idea of an exclusive limited edition writing instrument is not new, what is new is the approach we explored and patiently waited for one year and 5 months to share with you all.

With a minimalist trimless ebonite Momento Zero Grande version of Leonardo Officina Italiana, that we also used for the past 2 years when it comes to the yearly urushi exclusive of ours, we asked - Teodor Oneata (PenTeo), a Romanian urushi artist established in the Czech Republic, to give life and meaning, though its skill and passion for urushi to our exclusive Urushi Essenza Raden - Great Void - 

There is always beauty in the vast richness of our Universe, but there is also a lot of mystery and fascination within the absence of our Universe. The Boötes Void is a region of our universe near Boötes constellation where there is only 60 galaxies and not 2000 like anywhere else expected. Referred to as the Great Nothing or the Great Void this region is not completely empty but it's the one where the absence of stars is unlike anywhere else.

Urushi Essenza Raden - Great Void - paints the visual abundance of starts and with mother of pearl powder and silver dust within the depths of the urushi layers and concentrates them at opposite ends of the pen, at the flat end of the cap and at the flat end of the piston knob. Gradually the concentration of stars dims allowing the deep and rich black urushi to show the Great Void. Everything being sealed in space and time with multiple layers of high quality urushi lacquer that protects the artwork.

A true reflection of our chosen theme - the whole collection numbers 4 individual writing instruments of which only one pen is stil available for purchase, 2 are already sold and one is our Artist Proof, each of them numbered in maki-e red urushi, hand painted roman numerals, showing our passion and gratitude for italian writing instruments and their legacy.
